We are back!
The first issue of The Antiochian that I remember seeing was when I applied for a co-op job there in the early 1990s. Maybe I’d seen some copies lying around campus before - but I’d never cracked the cover until I decided to co-op there. Luckily I was a good writer, or so I thought, and a somewhat charming (at least I showered) student - and Holly Knight, Director of Communications at the time gave me the job. It turns out I was pretty good at writing - but shit at almost everything else (answering the phones, editing, following up on leads). None the less Holly let me tell my own story on the Cover of the next issue, and gently nudged me to get better at all the other bits.
My first brush with The Antiochian turned into a passion for creating media (not just writing) and more importantly for keeping up with all things Antioch. The stories about the amazing alums and their victories, the notes from long lost friends, the important work of professors, staff and students. I know that many of you have the same passion for hearing about your classmates and future friends - and in the past few years without the Antiochian there has been a little void for all of us. Now that void is over - filled with a new (and updated) Antiochian.
But it’s not the same!
We’ve heard from many of you that you would love to have the old Antiochian back - to touch and feel the pages, and linger on the Mermoriams and Class Notes. We would love that as well - but for now this is The Antiochian. Print is expensive, time-consuming and not environmentally friendly - and so while wish we could bring that experience to you it’s just not feasible, right now. In any case there is a lot to be said for this (new) Antiochian - we can make updates at any time, you can read it any time, anywhere. Its able (in theory) to reach more people - and more potential students - than any print edition could. SO we ask for your indulgence. The stories are here. The Class Notes are here. This is The Antiochian - and we’re proud to be able to bring it to you.
The College + The Alumni Association = The Antiochian
Unique in the history of The Antiochian, this edition is brought to you JOINTLY by the College and the Alumni Association. We each and all have a say in bringing you the news that is relevant, in a voice that you trust. We’ve come together to support the revivial of The Antiochian and are excited to bring you stories you care about, the news you want, and connection we’ve been missing these past years.

What to expect
The plan is to publish quarterly - a big block of stories every three months to keep you updated, engaged and informed. We’ll try to add some additional content as we can between quarterly “issues” - but we’re an all volunteer team working the best we can to make The Antiochian happen. Be patient - more will come. And PLEASE send us your ideas for stories - we need content!
